Hush, Hush

Hush, Hush (Hush, Hush #1)
Becca Fitzpatrick

Hush, Hush is about a girl named Nora who is stalked by people and she thinks she is seeing things when she is with this guy called Patch. Because seeing your own death beforehand is not normal, she thinks she’s going crazy. Patch kind of creeps her out yet she STILL likes him, even though he is most likely the one who is stalking her… and trying to kill her. She also meets these other dudes who are not important until the end. At the very end there is a surprising twist (but a really weird one). Is Patch trying to save her or kill her? Who knows? The guy is a jerk.

I have to admit, this is not one of my favorite books. I don’t know, maybe I’m just sick of angel books (I also didn’t like Embrace) but this book just didn’t do anything for me. Also I really disliked the girl, Nora; she pushed my buttons because she was constantly complaining. And I HATED the dude, Patch. He was awful and she still liked him (I saw the caption for the next book saying that he likes some annoying popular girl). Overall the book didn’t have much of a plot. I don’t know why I dislike the book so much - actually I do. The girl was weak, the dude was creepy, and this was not an original take on an angel story. And though I hate sad books and I refuse to have someone die, I kind of wish that Nora did die in the end. I probably would have freaked out in the beginning but then I don’t think I would care. You may like this book but if you have similar tastes as me you may dislike it.

Thanks for reading!

PS. Sorry if there are some weird formatting issues
I am having a few technical difficulties because
the site is being evil. It hates me.

One question to think about:
Why do most of the females in angel stories tend to be
wimpy?

Usually ...
The boy is an angel, the girl is a human, the angel
has to save the weak pathetic human, and they fall
deeply in love.
