Obsidian

Obsidian (Lux, Book 1)
Jennifer L. Armentrout
★★★★★

I read this about two weeks ago and it was very entertaining. Obsidian is about a girl named Katy who moves into a small town in West Virginia. She becomes friends with the girl next door (Dee) even though it is obvious that Dee’s brother (Daemon) hates Katy. Like extremely. For apparently no reason. She never suspected that her new neighbors were aliens, and that other aliens are out to kill them and take their powers. After Damon saves her life, he and Katy are stuck together (which she has some seriously mixed feelings about) because the people who are after him are now after her.

Obsidian was an awesome book! It was really funny in parts and I could not put it down. Even though the book didn’t have a high action plot it had tons of funny conversations between Katy and Daemon so I was very entertained. The ending to this book was quite AWESOME! And the bit before that was really sweet. Daemon is a total jerk, and Katy doesn’t fall for him which is good because some girls do fall for the jerks and I hate it! (like in Hush, Hush … ugh I didn’t like that book very much). Anyway Obsidian was great and the next one (Onyx) is coming out in August!!!
